Form fields type font is "white" and it can not be seen on a white background. In order to see the font I must change the theme to "dark" in "Theme Magic"
Question: How do I change the font colour in the "text field"?

Good Day Paul, I do have a link for this site, but am unclear as to why this may help as I have posted an image showing it. I have found a custom.css file on the site with the word "white" near the bottom. I changed this to "black" and the type changed colour to "black" in the text field area only.
Example: custom.css
select,
textarea,
input[type="text"],
input[type="password"],
input[type="datetime"],
input[type="datetime-local"],
input[type="date"],
input[type="month"],
input[type="time"],
input[type="week"],
input[type="number"],
input[type="email"],
input[type="url"],
input[type="search"],
input[type="tel"],
input[type="color"],
.uneditable-input {
color: white; " <= change this to "back" and the text fields change."
}

.logo-image a {
width: 400px;
height: 100px;
}

I now know how I can change this colour back and forth from "white to black". Why this does not change when the theme changes is beyond me. The themes change the normal text colour but not the "text field text". very odd. This is still an issue as far as I know with T3 Template and theme changing.
I have no idea where in the Template file this is or where in the theme this is.
If the text field area where to stay "white" the the text could stay "black"
This file was apparently added by Joomlart support when I asked about the "black" text not showing up on the black background.

T3 needs this issue worked on. Also documentation for the size of the "logo" area would be nice to see, as now it is arbitrarily limited with any knowledge of the size. You will have seen this is another area Joomlart support added to this custom.css file.

Can you imagine trying to fill in a form and it looks like nothing is happening. ......Not Good.

Hi Alan,

I'm just a user so I don't know T3 generic templates that well but can troubleshoot css quite well - so a link for me is always handy :)
From an image you don't get this ability

I also don't actually have many generic T3 templates installed I use another T3 template provider

With a link you can see what css is being applied using Firebug or Chrome Developer css tools

Good Day Paul,
Site http://mclarenphotography.cloudaccess.net/
I have not gone live yet. I am having a hard time getting answers. Joomlart has logged on and made changes, but not sure what is done. The custom.css is one thing they did to help.
I like the T3 Blank Template. as a starting point. One of the questions I ask Joolart was how do I put something(image or banner) in between "logo" and "search" . These items are at the opposite sides of the page with this big empty space in the middle. No answer yet.
There is a lot of space between all the positions. I would like to know how to change this and who to ask this question.

The Field Text issue was just not good planning on someones part. Change the theme and the "Text" goes invisible, now really, what were they thinking, and when being presented with this issue, no changes where made.

Any input or suggestions would be appreciated.
Alan

I would perhaps check the site in Firefox or IE and compare it to chrome
This shows how different browsers handle image sizes that are too big for the available container width - e.g. image size vrs span8 and span4

Chrome is resizing them to fit for you while the other browsers aren't - so its possible there is a misunderstanding about the space available
Chrome is sizing to fit so it reduces the height and width accordingly

Hope that helps you a bit

Cheers
Paul

Thanks Paul,
I do understand what you are saying about "span8 vs span4" as I have seen this in the documentation somewhere. But in the "Template Layout" this choice is not available or I do not know where to look.

Take Care,
Alan

Hi Alan McLaren,

For themes, you should define the color and style via LESS files.
Then you can compile it to CSS.
