After upgrading -- or in new installations -- is the local folder for customizations enabled by default? Will older customizations and settings still work, and can they simply be moved to the proper locations under /local to continue working from there?

Gonna try a new installation on XAMPP, because there certainly isn't a 'local' folder enabled when I update a website with t3_bs3_blank template... which is a shame, really. Tell me I'm wrong.

@Dan: Sorry for the late reply.

About your question if the old customization still worked properly, the answer is YES. You can decide to move the customization to the local folder or not, it's your call.

@Simon: the folder is not inlcuded by default, you have to create it by yourself as it's user's customization folder. The feature is enabled by default, there is no setting for it.

Gardner.
