Hi
Using t3-blank
There was a post in this forum with a tutorial of how to use @media to hide the megamenu in certain screen sizes
I had it bookmarked - http://t3-framework.org/discussions/show-different-menus-according-to-media.html - but it is no longer available obviously lost in one the the forums outage problems
Does anyone know or can remember how to do this
Best regards

I have a very large megamenu for large screen down to tablets but I need to have a much smaller megamenu for phones this is very important to me and I'm sure others

N.B.:
I would like to register this post as a feature request to add the ability to hide the navigation positions the same as hiding normal module positions in the template manager / layout / responsive layout - click here to hide position on current device layout

Hi Ashley,

Megamenu is built for large screen, in small screen like mobile, the megamenu is auto disabled. In such small screen, you can select to use either bootstrap dropdown menu or Off-canvas sidebar.

Hi Luna

I am using t3-blank and NOT t3-bs3-blank

You say

in small screen like mobile, the megamenu is auto disabled

While yes the dropdown megamenu does not show on small screens the menu transfers to the off-canvas one - HOWEVER all the same menus items and modules set up for the dropdown megamenu show in the off-canvas menu this is completely undesired - there does not seem to be a way of controlling which menu shows in the off-canvas on smaller screens - it is just the same one as the megamenu

I need to to be able to control which menu shows in the of-canvas for smaller screens

I know this is more configurable with t3-bs3-blank and using it I could probably get closer to what I want, but I have to use the t3-blank as I am using Moset Tree - t3-bs3-blank is not compatible with Moset Tree because MT uses bootstrap 2 the same as Joomla

So how can I have a large dropdown megamenu on larger screens and a different smaller more limited menu to show in the off-canvas on smaller screens

Best regards

Ashley

PS: I did find the forum post I mentioned in the my first post through the Joomlart forums, but it was how to do this with the t3-bs3-blank template as well so no help for me

Hi again,

You can disable off-canvas menu, at that time, you site will use dropdown menu. In small screen, menu should be simple that's why Megamenu is auto disabled in the small screens to improve performance. Loading module, images or complex menu structure will make your site slow in mobile.

An other reason is that, this belongs to customization, so that its out of our support scope.

Regards.
