Resolved Error when using Thememagic and when trying to update T3 from 2.1.5 to 2.2.1

I have searched your forums, and found a number of similar issues, but not a fix for mine, I am hoping you all can help.

I working on a new site build, running Joomla 3.3.0 installed using Industrix quickstart from ThemeHippo.

Quickstart came installed with T3 framework 2.1.5, the issue comes when trying to use Thememagic, attachment thememagic.png.

So I go into JA Extention Manager and see the update for for T3 Framework, attachment ja1.

When I press update, I receive another internal failure, attachment ja2.


I tried to manually do it, attachment ja3, but still no luck.

I am sure I am missing something simple, please help get me back on track.

I paid for a JATC Standard membership yesterday, there are a lot of great resources on this site that I will be taking advantage of. But having a paid account was not my issue.

My issue was server side and I tried every trouble shooting work-through I could Google before finally figuring it out.

So, anyone else having this same issue, double check who "Owns" the files in your root folder. For my case, all of my permissions were right, everything that should be writable was writable, the problem was, everything was owned be my FTP user and not by the Apache/PHP user. Fixed that and all is working as it should be.

Drove me crazy for an entire work day and in the end it was something relatively simple.

Okay, I've done more and more reading. Looks like my issue is that I do not have permission to upgrade my T3 framework from the version that came with my template as I am not a JATC member.

This is also why I do not have a service listed in my JA Extension Manager.

If this is correct, and I can fix my issues by becoming a paid member, please let me know. I will become a paid member today.
