I did check and it worked for me. What template you are using: T3 Blank or T3 BS3 Blank?

Yeah, you can customize the header.php file, change the structure in the file.

NOTE: if you want to display search and language switcher inline, you don't really need to customize the header.php file. You can use CSS to do that.

In case you want to use header.php to do that, then here is the steps:

1. Change logo size from col-sm-8 to col-sm-6

Replace the code:

$logosize = 'col-sm-12';
if ($headright = $this->countModules('head-search or languageswitcherload')) {
$logosize = 'col-sm-8';

With:

$logosize = 'col-sm-12';
if ($headright = $this->countModules('head-search or languageswitcherload')) {
$logosize = 'col-sm-6';

2. re-structure language switcher and search module position

Replace the code:

<?php if ($headright): ?>
<div class="col-xs-12 col-sm-4">
<?php if ($this->countModules('head-search')) : ?>
<!-- HEAD SEARCH -->
<div class="head-search <?php $this->_c('head-search') ?>">
<jdoc:include type="modules" name="<?php $this->_p('head-search') ?>" style="raw" />
</div>
<!-- //HEAD SEARCH -->
<?php endif ?>

<?php if ($this->countModules('languageswitcherload')) : ?>
<!-- LANGUAGE SWITCHER -->
<div class="languageswitcherload">
<jdoc:include type="modules" name="<?php $this->_p('languageswitcherload') ?>" style="raw" />
</div>
<!-- //LANGUAGE SWITCHER -->
<?php endif ?>
</div>
<?php endif ?>

With:

<div class="col-xs-12 col-sm-2">
<?php if ($this->countModules('languageswitcherload')) : ?>
<!-- LANGUAGE SWITCHER -->
<div class="languageswitcherload">
<jdoc:include type="modules" name="<?php $this->_p('languageswitcherload') ?>" style="raw" />
</div>
<!-- //LANGUAGE SWITCHER -->
<?php endif ?>
</div>

<div class="col-xs-12 col-sm-4">
<?php if ($this->countModules('head-search')) : ?>
<!-- HEAD SEARCH -->
<div class="head-search <?php $this->_c('head-search') ?>">
<jdoc:include type="modules" name="<?php $this->_p('head-search') ?>" style="raw" />
</div>
<!-- //HEAD SEARCH -->
<?php endif ?>
</div>

You may have to customize the style to make it fit your header block.
