I don't get it!

http://www.destinationimagination.ca/Joomla_3/

I have three articles for the front page and I don't understand why the 2nd and 3rd article are so skinny and in columns.

Why can't I assign positions to articles like plug ins.

I have the T3 blank default template selected. What module are the front page articles going into?

I also have the head - search not displaying as it should in the header column.

Thanks for any assistance.
