Dear community ,

I use "t3 blank - Default". The template has several sublayouts.
I do not know how to use the sublayouts. I can not associate them with a content or menu.
Have I to save the sublayout as an new template?

Thank you in advance
Dirk

Hi,

Let me explain how the feature work with a case study.

- You have Blog page (the page display list of articles from a category) and it is assigned to template style: T3 Blank - Blog. The "T3 Blank - Blog" template style use "blog" layout and "blog-sub" for the sub layout.
- In front-page, when you view the menu item: Blog, the page use "blog" layout but when you click on an article, the article page is belonged to Blog menu item but it uses "blog-sub" layout, not "blog" layout.

A real example is our JA Teline V template, in this template, we use different layout for the menu item page and its child page (pages belong the menu item). So we have to build 2 different layouts, assign the layout for the menu item page and sub-layout for child pages of the menu item.

Regards.

Thank you for your quick response.
I now have an idea of the application. But concretely:
T3 Blank has several sublayouts e.g. "Home-1" and "Home-2". One of my menuitems is to use home-1, another menuitem is to use home-2. How do I point the menuitems to the sublayouts?
Or is there another way to make the decision? Possibly by changing the source code?
Is there possibly appropriate documentation?

Thank you in advance
Dirk

This is quite simple, just create new template style, assign the corresponding layout and in the ASSIGNMENT tab, assign it to the menu item you want to apply the template style.
For example, if you want menu item: News to use "home-1" layout and sub-layout "home-sub". You will need:
- Create new template style by duplicating the T3 blank default template style.
- In the layout configurationi panel, assign layout "home-1" and in the sub-layout, set the "home-sub"
- In the "Assignment" tab, assign menu item "News" then save the setting.
Replicate the process for other menu items if you want to use different layout, sub-layout.

Regards.
