I duplicated my t3_blank template folder to create a custom template called "smith". I then discovered and installed this template in Joomla. Now, when I go to the layouts tab for "smith" in Joomla 3.1.5, I am unable to save any layout changes.

If I go into my original t3_blank template, I can save layouts just fine. What is going on? I duplicated the entire template folder and have made no other changes. I am running 1.4.1.

Thanks!

Hi Cory Eastman,

Have you change the templateDetails.xml to correct value of new template?
You can take a look at http://docs.joomla.org/Creating_a_basic_templateDetails.xml_file for more information.

Thanks for your response! The templateDetails.xml file came along with the duplicated template folder. I then changed "t3_blank" out for "smith" and copied the associated language files. I didn't change anything else.... Still won't save a layout change : (

Hi Cory Eastman,

You can try to pack the template file then uninstall/reinstall the template again (smith).
If it does not work, you can try to set the default template to smith template.
