Hello,
I would like to add a top menu at the very top of the page, above the logo.
Has anyone an idea how this can be done?
Cheers
Holger

Hi,

Please open the layout you want (templates\t3_bs3_blank\tpls) to customize the position for the menu and exchange the position of the mainnav block and the header block so it will be something like this:

<?php $this->loadBlock('mainnav') ?>
<?php $this->loadBlock('header') ?>

Now the menu will be display in top of the page. Here is how it is displayed after we change the position of the blocks: http://easycaptures.com/fs/uploaded/902/5242805990.jpg

Regards.

In the template open the default.php file or whatever layout you are using (It's the file that loads all the blocks for the layout.
IN this example I am using the default layout default.php

<?php
/**

*------------------------------------------------------------------------------
*/
defined('_JEXEC') or die;
?>
<!DOCTYPE html>
<html lang="<?php echo $this->language; ?>" dir="<?php echo $this->direction; ?>"
class='<jdoc:include type="pageclass" ></jdoc:include>'>
<head>
<jdoc:include type="head" ></jdoc:include>
<?php $this->loadBlock('head') ?>
</head>
<body>
<div class="t3-wrapper"> <!-- Need this wrapper for off-canvas menu. Remove if you don't use of-canvas -->
<?php $this->loadBlock('mainnav') ?>
<?php $this->loadBlock('header') ?>
<?php $this->loadBlock('spotlight-1') ?>
<?php $this->loadBlock('mainbody') ?>
<?php $this->loadBlock('spotlight-2') ?>
<?php $this->loadBlock('navhelper') ?>
<?php $this->loadBlock('footer') ?>
</div>
</body>
</html>

Where the <?php $this->loadBlock('mainnav') ?> line is just move that line to above the rest of the blocks. Your new file should look like this:

<?php
/**
*------------------------------------------------------------------------------
* @package T3 Framework for Joomla!
*------------------------------------------------------------------------------
* @copyright Copyright (C) 2004-2013 JoomlArt.com. All Rights Reserved.

*------------------------------------------------------------------------------
*/
defined('_JEXEC') or die;
?>
<!DOCTYPE html>
<html lang="<?php echo $this->language; ?>" dir="<?php echo $this->direction; ?>"
class='<jdoc:include type="pageclass" ></jdoc:include>'>
<head>
<jdoc:include type="head" ></jdoc:include>
<?php $this->loadBlock('head') ?>
</head>
<body>
<div class="t3-wrapper"> <!-- Need this wrapper for off-canvas menu. Remove if you don't use of-canvas -->
<?php $this->loadBlock('header') ?>
<?php $this->loadBlock('mainnav') ?>
<?php $this->loadBlock('spotlight-1') ?>
<?php $this->loadBlock('mainbody') ?>
<?php $this->loadBlock('spotlight-2') ?>
<?php $this->loadBlock('navhelper') ?>
<?php $this->loadBlock('footer') ?>
</div>
</body>
</html>

That will put your menu at the very top of your page. Or at least it should.
Good luck
